North East Says Yes! is a platform that allows everyone to have their say on the devolution deal announced last month and the Northern Powerhouse, and how it can create growth in our region.

These are potentially game changing initiatives for the North East, providing many opportunities with new funding and new powers.

They provide not just an opportunity, but a responsibility for everybody with something to say about how to make the North East a better place.

Our region has all the talent and initiative needed to have a positive impact on how devolution affects us.

It is important to take very opportunity to grow the conversation and give as many people as possible, from all sectors and of all political views, a say on the decisions that will affect us for a generation to come.

We are looking for contributions in four main areas:

  • Transport and infrastructure
  • Finance and investment, both public and private
  • Science, industry, innovation and skills
  • Education, healthcare, housing and planning.

A holistic approach must be used to ensure more people than ever are assisted to achieve their full potential, safe in the knowledge that they have guaranteed and ongoing help from organisations that have the expertise to understand their situation.
